4 luxury items that increase in value over time
Nowadays, people are investing heaps in items that may (or may not) increase in value in order to sell them at a much higher price in the near future.
Sometimes, no matter how luxurious an item can be, it’s value will still depend on different factors like inflation as well as its rarity. For example, if you bought an extremely rare diamond wedding ring during the 90s, it’s probable that the value will increase by 2019.
On the other hand, if you bought a fairly common one and sold it after 10 or 20 years, you won’t earn as much as the other.
Now that you have an idea on investments, here are four luxury items that increase in value over time:
1. Vintage comic books
Fans of superhero characters, young and old, will find it difficult to grab a copy of the first issue of their favourite comic book character. Since decades had passed, the rarity and value of these books skyrocketed and will only go higher—some are even sold for 20,000 USD!
2. Liquor
Although liquor aren’t usually worth thousands, they’re still known to increase in value because of their one special trait:
They taste better with age.
A decade old cab sav would easily find a place in a collector’s shelf. If you plan on investing in fine wine and other quality liquor, you should choose one that’ll last for more than five or ten years. That way, they’ll double in value—or even triple!
3. Stamps
Believe it or not, stamp collectors can spend millions of dollars for one rare collector’s stamp. It may seem crazy, but it’s what collectors and investors do. Much like vintage comics, they increase in value the rarer it gets. And if its conditions are mint or near perfect, then you’ve got yourself a million-dollar stamp.
4. Gold
The gold market almost always increases as years go by. One of the reasons why is because of the limited gold reserves. Once the supply of gold diminishes, the prices will be on an all-time high.
Keep in mind that only the metal increases in value, not jewelleries with such material. These type of jewelleries aren’t exactly made of pure gold. They’re mixed and plated with different metals to ensure durability (since gold is soft).
If you plan on reselling your jewellery for a higher price, be sure to take them to jewellery repairs in Sydney regularly.
Of course, there are other items that will surely increase in value in just a span of five or more years. It’s all about how you maintain it and how hard they are to find.
So, the next time you shop for an expensive item, always take note of its resale value in the future!
