Three tips for purchasing a pink diamond on a budget

With the majority of pink diamonds coming centrally from the Argyle mine in Kimberley, Western Australia – the rarity of the pink diamond has made it one of the most sorts after diamonds on the market today. The rare nature of the diamond does mean that market demand has increased the cost to purchase the diamonds. Here are our favourite tips to help you get the best value for money for pink diamond wedding rings in Sydney today:

Don’t go for a full carat

Although it might be tempting to get a full carat with the spectacular pink diamond, it might not always be the best option for you (or your wallet!). This is because full carats tend to cost more than those just under carat – due to the fact that pricing within the market is based on full carats (ct’s). For example, instead of going for a 1-carat pink diamond, try going for 0.9 carats. The difference between the two diamonds will be nearly invisible to the eye – and yet it will result in significant savings to your pocket.

Set the pink diamond on a rose gold metal

This is a fantastic tip as using a rose gold band will strengthen the colour of the pink diamond exponentially. This means that you can choose a lighter pink diamond colour (which is more affordable) and still get the same brilliant effect as that of a more opulent coloured pink diamond.

Use smaller pink diamonds

This is a fantastic tip to capitalise on the beauty of the pink diamond while remaining economical with your choices. The smaller diamonds can be placed in settings that draw focus to the gemstones while being paired with larger gemstones that provide a perfect contrast – showcasing the beauty of both to an equal extent.
