How to choose a wedding ring
So you’ve got the engagement ring on the finger, and your big day is coming up quickly. It’s time to combine that ring with a beautiful wedding band. But how do you choose the perfect wedding ring for you? Here are four considerations that often slip under the radar of those in search for the perfect symbol of their union.
Know your limits
Before you start shopping, know what you’re willing to spend. That princess cut diamond ring might look fantastic, but if you haven’t got the money for it then there’s no point in even looking at it. Setting a budget will ensure that you don’t look too far down the high-priced end of the jewellery store.
Start looking early
You want to give yourself plenty of time to find your perfect ring – don’t leave it until the last minute. The added pressure of time might cause you to choose something that you don’t want, and if you can’t find exactly what you want and need to get something custom made, that process can take 2-3 months.
Listen to your heart
So your partner loves rose gold and you love platinum. While in days gone by that might’ve led to someone not getting their way, we now live in modern, pragmatic times! There’s no definitive rule that says ‘you MUST get matching wedding bands’. Just get what you want!
Match your engagement ring
One thing that you should take care to match, however, is your engagement ring. If you wear a diamond engagement ring with a large solitaire stone, you’ll ideally want a wedding band that curves or has an indent that works around the rock. This makes for a more comfortable and better looking combination.
